This coming weekend marks the 8th anniversary for Girls In Gis, which is an amazing organization dedicated to bringing women together in BJJ and providing a support network. Girls in Gis have grown exponentially over the past few years and it is so awesome to see how collectively woman can build something so amazing. I am super honoured to be the guest instructor along with the super talented Hannette Staack. We will both be sharing some techniques in a seminar the following day. Please book your spots asap for this event. It will be an opportunity not to be missed.
Lately I have been teaching a seminar every week or so. It is so amazing to be able to travel to new places, see new things, meet new people all because of the sport I love. The other week I was honoured to be teaching a seminar in Texas for the Women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation alongside multiple time World Champ Hannette Staack. The WBJJF is dedicated to promoting women in the sport with camps, tournaments and seminars geared to both women and girls. Thank you Kristine Felts for starting this organisation and making a difference to so many. Your efforts are hugely appreciated. I met amazing women who were seasoned athletes, or brand new beginners or mothers (one was a mother of 5 kids!) Everyone of these ladies was taking the time out for themselves to pursue what they love and that is what it is all about.
I headed out to Texas to teach a seminar with Hannette Staack for the Women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. The event was a huge event with a tournament also with many people participating. I am honoured to be a part of this amazing event and to be teaching along side the amazing Hannette Staack who is doing amazing things for women in the sport.
